Swedish Almond Cake

Cake Batter

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp(s) Almond extract
  • 2/3 cup(s) Milk
  • 1 1/4 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup(s) Flour
  • 1/2 tsp(s) Baking powder
  • 8 tbsp(s) Butter or margarine


  • 1/4 (approximate) cup(s) Confectioner's sugar

Cooking Instructions

Note: You will need a special Swedish Almond Cake pan for this recipe. They are inexpensive, and you can usually purchase one online through Amazon.com or any Scandinavian import store. Trust me, it's worth the investment!

Step 1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2. Beat the following ingredients in a mixing bowl: -Egg -Almond extract -Milk -Sugar

Add (in this order): -Flour (add slowly to avoid clumps) -Baking powder -Melted butter or margarine

Step 3: Coat your cake pan thoroughly with non-stick spray or butter/margarine to prevent the cake from sticking.

Step 4: Pour your batter in the pan and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 50 minutes or until the cake appears golden brown on top. You can confirm whether or not the cake is done by piercing the cake with a toothpick. If no batter sticks to the toothpick, your cake is done.

Step 5: Cool for 20 minutes.

Step 6: When ready to serve, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
