Scottish Shortbread

“This recipe has been handed down from generation to generation. I learned it from my grandmother, I made it with my mother, and now I’m continuing the tradition with my two-year-old daughter. It’s always been a big favourite!”


  • 1 cup(s) butter
  • 1/2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1/2 tsp(s) cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp(s) baking soda
  • 2 cup(s) flour

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into small cookies using a pastry bag. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Decorate with icing and a little maraschino cherry.
