“My grandmother got this recipe from a friend. I make it every Christmas from her handwritten recipe card. It’s the taste of my childhood. ”

  • 2 cup(s) golden sugar
  • 2 cup(s) 35% cooking cream
  • 1/4 cup(s) corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp(s) vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp(s) butter

Cooking Instructions

Combine all the ingredients. Bring to a boil and then lower the heat and cook for about 15 minutes or until 1/2 tsp of the mixture forms a hard ball in cold water. Add the vanilla extract and the butter (should be the size of an egg). Beat the mixture with 500 strokes, until it thickens. Spread into a greased pan. Let cool and cut into squares.
