“My Mom has been making this ham, along with a turkey, every Thanksgiving and Christmas since I can remember. It’s a family favourite.”
- 1 5-7 lb pre-cooked ham
- 1 cup(s) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup(s) honey or maple syrup
- 2 tsp(s) dry mustard
- 1 cup(s) orange juice
- 15 or more cloves
- 1 20 oz. can of pineapple slices
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Bake unglazed ham until thermometer reads 130 F. Score outside in diamond pattern, cutting 1/4 “ deep.
Combine brown sugar, honey or syrup, mustard, and orange juice. Spread glaze over ham 1 hour before ham is cooked. Stud cloves in each diamond and attach pineapple slices with toothpicks. Return to the oven for 1 hour to finish baking, brushing, if you wish, every 15 minutes with basting sauce. Let rest and carve at table. Allow 10 min/lb. Ham is cooked when internal temperature is 160 F for 30 minutes.
