“The Holidays are a time to enjoy or rediscover the “signature desserts” made by all my aunts. When you factor in my girlfriend’s aunts, there must be about 18 of them! Which means 18 ways to get my sugar fix! Some of these desserts, including Magic Squares, have been part of my Christmas for more than 30 years. Above all, I think fondly of my aunts as I enjoy them.”
- 1/2 cup(s) butter
- 1 1/2 cup(s) crushed graham crackers
- 1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
- 2 cup(s) chocolate chips
- 1 1/4 cup(s) shredded coconut
- 1 cup(s) chopped nuts
STEP 1: Melt the butter in a 3- or 4-inch deep baking dish and press the crushed graham crackers to make the base.
STEP 2: Combine the chocolate chips, coconut and nuts in a separate bowl.
STEP 3: Pour the chocolate chip, coconut and nut mixture on the graham cracker crust. Press down well.
STEP 4: Pour the condensed milk over the chocolate chip mixture.
STEP 5: Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden.
Those with a serious sweet tooth can add a layer of miniature marshmallows before pouring in the Eagle Brand and/or add more chocolate chips—but don’t go overboard!
