Cheddar Biscuits

“These biscuits are a homemade version of a popular american restaurant item. They're rich & cheesy with just a small kick!”


For the Biscuits

  • 2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp(s) sugar
  • 1 tbsp(s) baking powder
  • 2 tsp(s) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp(s) salt
  • 1/4 tsp(s) cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup(s) buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

For the Topping

  • 3 tbsp(s) butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp(s) chopped fresh parsley leaves
  • 1/2 tsp(s) garlic powder

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper & set aside.

  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne in a large mixing bowl.

  3. In a second bowl, whisk together buttermilk and butter. Pour over dry ingredients and stir with rubber spatula until just moist. Add cheese & combine gently.

  4. scoop batter evenly in 1/4 cup balls onto prepared baking sheet. Place on center rack in oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown

  5. For the topping, whisk together butter, parsley and garlic powder in a small bowl. Working one at a time, brush the tops of the biscuits with the butter mixture.
